About us

MD Albbruck’s history goes back to 1870, when a wood-grinding plant came on stream. Paper has been produced at MD Albbruck since 1882. Since 1990, MD Albbruck has been part of the Myllykoski Group and the development site for offset papers in reels and sheets (sheet-fed offset). Over the past 30 years, Albbruck has gained a leading market position in coated offset papers. MD Albbruck papers are used for the production of highbrow journals and magazines, specialist and non-fiction books, mail-order catalogues and advertising supplements.

MD Albbruck works on constantly developing its product portfolio in close co-operation with its customers and machine suppliers; realising paper-technological innovations on a regular basis. For example, Albbruck was the first company within the paper industry to introduce the newly developed OptiSpray-coating process, which makes for efficient online double coating. This new technology means that Albbruck now produces high-quality, improved LWC (light-weight coated) grades exclusively.

With a staff of around 570 people and three paper machines, MD Albbruck is the largest mill of Myllykoski. MD Albbruck’s three paper machines, PM 5, PM 6
and PM 7, produce around 320.000 tonnes of wood containing coated printing papers annually, of which around 105.000 tones is made available to the sheet-fed
offset market.

Albbruck is located on the southern part of the Black Forest, where the river Alb flows into the Rhine. Its location on the foothills of the Black Forest and where Germany, France and Switzerland meet makes it an attractive place to live, with a high value in terms of leisure.
