History

The mill's history goes back more than hundred years. Groundwood pulp for paper manufacture has been produced at Myllykoski since 1892.

Myllykoski Träsliperi Aktiebolag founded

1920

Myllykoski Träsliperi Aktiebolag, Aktiebolag Simpele and Osakeyhtiö Jämsänkoski combine to establish Yhtyneet Paperitehtaat

1952

Myllykosken Paperitehdas Oy becomes independent

1965 - 88

Acquisition of the Colombier works in the U.K, the Netherlands and Spain

Madison Paper Industries in the USA

1987

Purchase of Gebrüder Lang, Germany

1990

Acquisition of Albbruck and Mochenwangen, Germany

1993

Myllykoski Paper becomes a separate unit from parent company Myllykoski Oy

1995

Myllykoski Paper Oy is formed to an independent company

1996

Myllykoski Oy forms a strategic alliance with Metsä-Serla Oy. Metsä-Serla acquires a 35% minority share of Myllykoski Paper Oy

1999

Cooperation between Myllykoski Paper Oy and Vattenfall Oy in energy generation began.

2000

Cooperation training, formulating our corporate values.

2001

Vattenfall's new steam power plant at Myllykoski.

2002

Myllykoski Sales starts.

2003

MWC500 project (renovation of PM 4).

2005

New peroxide bleaching plant, a high bright MY GOLD launched

2007

Maintenance co-operation with ABB starts
